[Last summer, we, as a church body, began asking God to
give us a heart for loving those hurting and in need.
Just over a month later, we grieved with our nation and
the world over the tragic events of September 11, 2001.We
united to pray for the people of New York City and collected
over $84,000 to aid Redeemer Presbyterian Church, our
sister church in Manhattan, in its efforts to care for
the community. Following are God Stories reported by Redeemer’s
Disaster Relief Team. L God Stories from New York City:

Abounding Grace Christian Center and its pastor, Richard
Del Rio, serves a multiethnic and poor congregation of
individuals and families near the devastated area. In
the best of times, Abounding Grace operates on a shoestring
budget, and now its staff and volunteers find themselves
serving and housing Ground Zero workers around the clock.
Redeemer’s Disaster Relief Fund has made it possible
for them to continue this crucial service.
